The brief
Much of what GreatBags sells has been sold in person. At shows Seymour and Lisa answer the questions, demonstrate how a strap adjusts and let people handle the fabric before they commit.
The goal was to move customer acquisition away from those shows and onto the website — which meant the store had to carry that conversation on its own, for someone who has never met the people who make the bags.
The approach
Two constraints pulled against each other. New customers needed more guidance and more reason to believe in the shop, while customers who have been buying for years — most of them in an older demographic — needed to still find everything exactly where they left it.
A professional shoot wasn’t an option, so AI image generation filled the gaps in the imagery, giving the pages some of the context customers would get seeing the bags at a show.
GreatBags & Maple Leather
Seymour Mondshein and Lisa Martin have been making bags in the USA for over 50 years — fabric backpack purses, side entry backpacks and accessories, built around their signature tapestry fabrics and leather straps. Alongside the store they sell at a handful of in-person shows each year, and their studio in Stockton, New Jersey is open for shopping by appointment.

Product photo editing
Existing product photography cleaned up and made consistent, so a made-to-order range reads as one collection.

AI image generation
With a professional shoot out of scope, existing photography became the source for the lifestyle imagery the pages needed.
